His first book, <em>How Much is a Million?<\/em> (1985) has won numerous awards and is credited with helping to launch the practice of using children\u2019s literature to teach mathematics in the classroom. More recent titles inspire a sense of wonder in children by addressing difficult subjects in enjoyable ways.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An engaging and energetic presenter to both children and educators, David speaks at about 50 schools and 10 education conferences each year.
