This Summer, introduce your kids to Chinese history in a fun and unique way! We are thrilled to team up with TEBie to bring you a new style of summer storytelling workshop: touring history by role playing with dolls and a scroll! A wonderful way to develop your child’s analytical thinking, imagination and spark their interest in Chinese history.
Suitable for children aged 3-9 years old.
Cost: HK$220 per child per session or $600 for 3 sessions
- Learn through play!
- Children will sing, dance and recite poetry
- An arts and crafts time period will allow children to role play, express their creativity, and build confidence
- Each child will take home their creations as a reminder of the lessons they learned!
About the Storyteller
Vivian Sum is an experienced former Chinese and Chinese History teacher of over 12 years at Primary and Secondary schools. She holds an M.A. in Historical Studies, a B.A. in History and Chinese Literature, and a Post-graduate Certificate of Education from The University of Hong Kong. As a mother of two boys ages 3 and 10 years old, Vivian has brought joy to many children as a “story-mum” for a kindergarten.
Angie Lin holds an M.Ed. in TESOL from University of British Columbia, Canada, an M.A. in Communications from Purdue University, U.S.A. and a B.A. in English from Nanjing University, China. She has worked as a college English teacher, corporate trainer, consultant, English and Mandarin tutor, and playgroup instructor. A strong believer of the importance of reading to young children, Angie is keen to spread the joy of reading to more. Since she joined Bring Me A Book, she has been active and well received to read stories in schools, community centers, organizations, and events like International Readers Festival.
Gloria Wu is the creator of “TEBie” (meaning “Special” in Mandarin Chinese), an educational toy which promotes childhood learning, inter-generational wisdom sharing, and parental bonding through play. She is very passionate about education and hopes to help parents raise their children in a supportive, nurturing home environment.
