To celebrate Give & Gain Day in May, Bring Me A Book collaborated with Target, Aon Hong Kong Limited and Skadden to organize “Igniting the Passion to Read” volunteer reading program for underprivileged children. This meaningful and fun event was held at FIVE of our library sites from May 16-28, 2012. Thank you to all our corporate partners who mobilized their employees to volunteer their expertise and time during office hours to support those beneficiaries in greatest need.
Volunteers were briefed on reading tips to make storytelling powerful, interactive and fun. After the briefing, the volunteers could select their own picture books to read from the Bring Me a Book library. Both the children and the volunteers had great fun during the storytelling and puppet-making sessions.
We look forward to working with more volunteers in the future to spread the joy of reading.
